DIY 6mm wargame minis - first attempts

Minis can get expensive. There are so many great products out there that you can easily just keep buying and not paint any of it. So instead of spending more money I've decided to try my hand at making my own.

Let's Disassemble a Car Stereo

Geek out with me as I learn electronics by destroying electronics. I'm always looking for strange new parts, especially ICs that have interesting functions for my noisemaker experiments.

I also make wargame terrain, so I like finding cool sci-fi looking parts for scratchbuilding.

ICs found in this one:

LA1265 - AM/FM tuner
LS7343 - probably a motor controller or audio processor
KIA 528sK - Power Amplifier (yayyy)
KIA 62255 Preamplifier (yayyy)
DMC4002 - surface mount -
PLL Frequency synthesizer and tuner controller

Finished 6mm scale wargaming terrain from cheap stuff

I'm happy with how this quick little project turned out. Some simple stuff from the recycle bin turned into some workable terrain for 6mm wargaming. I might do a bit more detailing in the future but for now I want to focus on getting some minis painted up.

Ideas for 6mm wargame terrain using cheap & free materials

In addition to cleaning up and painting the Epic scale stuff I'm making some terrain to use on the game table.

Unboxing 6mm Epic 40k Stuff - Future War Commander?

I'm going to delve into 6mm wargaming for a while. Over the holidays we cleaned out our storage room and I found all this great Epic 40k stuff. So i brought it all back to New Zealand and started looking for game rules to use it with.
